A “kids friendly” concept: The Popcup ceramic coffee

KIDS FRIENDLY CONCEPTS: TEMPLES OF PARENT-CHILD ACTIVITIES

We love the ultra “Kids Friendly” reception areas at Milinane! These places dedicated to the development and fun of our children are our allies when our “super-mum-hyperactive” life leaves us little time to organize activities. By “kids friendly concepts” I mean many places offering fun activities of all kinds. It was during a visit to Lille (yes, I'm revealing myself a little more because that's where I'm from) that I had the opportunity to test a special one !

The famous POPCUP Café Céramique at 251 rue Pasteur, in Marcq-en-Baroeul.

THE IMPROBABLE CERAMIC COFFEE POPCUP EXPERIENCE

It’s because they are strong enough up there to initiate new concepts and simply undertake things! On the occasion of a quick trip (at the risk of finding myself frozen in the cold for several months…*), I had the opportunity to test the “Ceramic Café PopCup” with my daughter. Everything is in the title ! To tell you the truth, it was the association of the words “COFFEE” and “CERAMIQUE” that first caught my attention. Then the idea that children could spend time in the world of ceramics seemed simply madness to me! Nothing better than testing. So we spent 2 hours with a little cousin of the same age in this mecca of creativity for ages 0 to 99. In a fanciful but very organized setting we were able to express our artistic talents on objects. But then how does such an artistic session take place with fragile trinkets and 2 children, aged 4, surrounded by brushes and paints!!??

CREATIVITY (AND PATIENCE) FIRST!

I clearly saw the complicit (but above all very amused) look of the manager, seeing me embark on a work myself while the 2 mice were becoming far too enterprising with the “gothic black”! These little hands were going way too fast for me: and presto! I glue a heart, I generously soak my sponge-pad with paint, and I don't care about mixing the colors!! Trying to establish method and delicacy as best I could, I quickly gave up. I decided to ensure, at a minimum, the security of places, clothing and fragile objects. A special time, which ultimately provides as much well-being to children as to mothers! And finally, concentrating fully on a manual activity stops, for a moment, the incessant little cycle that is in our head! A place, therefore, to discover without delay! For my part, I will go back but no longer alone! :-D

Good week !
