DARE TO JUST
We're not going to lie to each other, whether in clothing or decoration, for the most part, we grew up with very mastered reflexes of associating colors and patterns! Who among us admits not knowing the perfect “twin-set” coordinated with our shoes? Or even risk a “color monochrome madness” for the cushions on your sofa? Otherwise having thought that the perfect approach to decoration and fashion consisted of combining, matching and combining without daring too much! Today the codes are being shaken up, we can play the “big mix” card from our wardrobe, through the atmosphere of the house to our babies' rooms…
MIX THE PATTERNS AND REVEAL YOURSELF...
But what if this was ultimately just a very concrete expression of a happy quest for personal well-being!? After all, once the codes are broken, anything goes, right!? (Well almost !). We can therefore fully emancipate ourselves and no longer have to be ashamed of our own originality. On the road to free expression? Not completely, but our times allow us to listen more to our inspirations and broaden the field of possibilities. So we no longer hesitate to mix stripes with floral patterns, to mix the bohemian style with the “streetwear” look, to bring together under one roof, new with old or even Swedish furniture with “vintage” !
EVEN GIVE FOR OUR KIDS?
As far as our little treasures are concerned, this trend needs to be nuanced. About their wardrobe, and without a doubt, the classic “total look” has completely gone out of fashion. “New colors” have also taken their place in their closet: the black vest, the ocher blouse, etc. But also more elaborate patterns also have their place! For the decoration of their room this translates into choices of textiles combining colors and graphic, plant or animal designs. They alone take care of the decoration, and there is therefore no point in overloading it elsewhere. At Milinane, we advocate this trend! The baby's room becomes a unique universe thanks to plant wallpaper from Cole & Son and the house “tiger” print or the combination of the “Terrazzo” graphic print with our peach and storm “little lemur”! This large “melting-pot-deco” is joined by completely anachronistic furniture: an old Parisian wardrobe repainted in powder pink will do the trick perfectly with a rattan bed and a MALM chest of drawers from IKEA! Everything is allowed !
And you ? have you taken the plunge?
Good weekend to all of you !
